I want to give a warm welcome to those that will hopefully become new friends here on the forum. I would like to start with how Empire Publishing was brought into existence.
I have been involved in publishing and printing most of my life, and throughout the years, I gained experience in every aspect of the industry, including layout, graphics, design and pre-press.
I have been writing articles for magazines since my early twenties, and a few years ago, I wrote my first novel; a book that has sold very well since its release. However, originally I went the painstaking tradition publishing route. I spent months writing loglines, synopses, query letters and a book proposal (required by agents and publishers) that turned into a book all its own. Six months later, I sought and agent and a publishing contract. As with the majority of authors, I received one rejection after another. I reached the point that I was so discouraged that I almost gave up. That’s when I decided to look into self publishing.
I am passionate about research, and did it extensively when looking into the self publishing companies on the Internet. Having been in the industry in a number of aspects, I was appalled by the scams these companies were doing and getting away with. I knew there had to be a better way of getting a book published.
I continued investigating, logging information and comparing the online self-publishing companies. I still felt there had to be a better way; one that would benefit the authors and not just line the pockets of those taking advantage of the naïve.
It took four years of hard work (seven days a week and many all-nighters) to launch Empire Publishing. We ran test run after test run to make sure that we could offer the best services, the highest quality workmanship and provide authors with more for the money with each publishing package than any other publisher on the market. We continually expand to keep up with the constantly changing industry.
As with any business, we want to make money, but our main priority is complete satisfaction of each and every author whom publishes through Empire Publishing. We will continue to grow and create new avenues for book promotion that others have not delved in. We are truly, “Building a Better Publishing Company.”
